Our MissionTo spread the message that the Kingdom of God is at hand. Meaning this: The One True Living God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, created the universe with a Word. He created everything in the universe, whether physical, spiritual or both. The race of man was part of that creation and was made in the image and likeness of His creator. Therefore, man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body. Man was created perfect and had pure communion with God. However, due to man's rebellion, he lost that communion. Sin, the violation of God's innate holiness, cannot exist in His presence. Man condemned himself to death. God's unchangeable law says that the penalty for sin is death. All humans, since then have inherited this sinful nature. We are born with a built in drive toward sin. But thank God for His mercy. He could not change His law, death had to be paid. So, He became a man and lived among us. The Son laid down His divinity, His "Godness", and was born as a human child of a virgin with God as His Father so He did not inherit the nature of sin. This is a great mystery and requires faith. By power of the Holy Spirit He led a life on this earth without ever falling to sin. He was tempted by everything that tempts us, but did not fall. So, He has compassion on all of us who have fallen, because He knows our weakness. He spent three and a half years showing us who God is. He proclaimed that He was the only way to God. He called to everyone who was tired of religion, and rules of men that could not save them, and promised them all rest. He offered love and relationship with God to all of us. He was then handed over to sinful men, who beat Him and crucified Him. After three hours on the cross, when all our sin debt was paid, He said His work was done and gave up His life. Our death sentence was carried out, just carried on Jesus instead of you and me. His was laid in a tomb, and on the third morning the Holy Spirit raised Him to life again. He then appeared to His followers for forty days, was taken up to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. Now He lives forever to pray and be a go-between with God the Father for His people; and He sent the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts until He returns for us. So, how do we become His people? We must be born again. Not of water and a mother's womb, but of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who will receive Jesus Christ, the risen Son of God as savior and Lord will be saved. That is we must put our whole trust in the following: that the blood of Jesus was the total payment for all our sins, that His death and resurrection (being raised from the dead) destroyed our sin nature and gives us His nature and that we have a promise that, like Him, we can live forever. Therefore, we must repent (change our minds and go the other direction) of our old life and practice a life of obedience to God. But Salvation is supposed to be free. Yes, free as in UNEARNED (we cannot be good enough on our own.) But there is a cost. God gives us life through His Son Jesus Christ. In return, He enables us to be what we were created to be, obedient sons and daughters. Not just a new list of rules and regulations that we have to follow, no, finally the freedom to obey. Before Christ, we were slaves of sin not capable of obedience. Jesus said that He came to set captives free. At last our hearts can shout for joy for privilege of serving and obey God in true communion and relationship.
